§ 120.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CITY. The City of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
   CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity engaged in the business of constructing, altering, repairing or demolishing buildings, structures, utilities, site improvements or topography.
   GENERAL CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity which employs or manages the work of one or more trade contractors engaged in constructing, altering, repairing or demolishing buildings, structures, utilities, site improvements or topography. A developer, builder, construction manager, property owner or tenant that employs or manages the work of one or more trade contractors is a GENERAL CONTRACTOR .
   IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that installs or supervises the installation of lawn sprinkler systems subject to Section 2.5 of the Illinois Plumbing License Law (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 0.01 et seq.) and licensed under the Illinois Plumbing License Law (225 ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 0.01 et seq.).
   LOCKSMITH. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that installs or repairs locks or makes keys and is licensed under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 (225 ILCS Ch. 225, Act 447, § 5 et seq.).
   PLUMBING CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that performs plumbing, as defined in the Illinois Plumbing License Law (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 0.01 et seq.), for another person and licensed under the Illinois Plumbing License Law (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 320, § 0.01 et seq.).
   PRIVATE ALARM CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity engaged in the installation, maintenance, alteration, monitoring, or servicing of detection devices or a system of detection devices that signal the presence of a person or hazard that requires urgent attention and is licensed under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 447, § 5 et seq.)
   PUBLIC UTILITY CONTRACTOR. A contractor constructing public improvement work in the rights-of-way under an agreement, license or permit with the City or other governmental entity.
   RESIDENT PROPERTY OWNER. A person who owns and resides in a detached single-family residence located within the City.
   RESIDENTIAL MAINTENANCE LANDSCAPER. A person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that performs only lawn mowing or landscape maintenance work for a residential property owner or tenant.
   REGISTERED INTERIOR DESIGNER. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that administers contracts for fabrication, procurement, or installation in the implementation of designs, drawings, and specifications for any interior design project and offers or furnishes professional services, such as consultations, studies, drawings, and specifications in connection with the location of lighting fixtures, lamps and specifications of ceiling finishes as shown in reflected ceiling plans, space planning, furnishings, or the fabrication of non-loadbearing structural elements within and surrounding interior spaces of buildings but specifically excluding mechanical and electrical systems, except for specifications of fixtures and their location within interior spaces and is registered under Section 8 of the Interior Design Title Act (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 310, § 1 et seq.).
   ROOFING CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that has the experience, knowledge and skill to construct, reconstruct, alter, maintain and repair roofs and use materials and items used in the construction, reconstruction, alteration, maintenance and repair of all kinds of roofing and waterproofing as related to roofing, all in such manner to comply with all plans, specifications, codes, laws, and regulations applicable thereto licensed under the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 335, § 1 et seq.).
   TRADE CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that contracts with a general contractor, property owner or tenant and performs one or more trades or crafts in the construction, alteration, repair or demolition of buildings, structures, utilities, site improvements or topography, including, but not restricted to, demolition, excavation, concrete, masonry, carpentry, structural steel, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler, plumbing, roofing contractors, and landscapers, but excluding residential maintenance landscapers.
   WATER WELL CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity that contracts to drill, alter or repair any water well licensed under the Water Well and Pump Installation Contractor’s License Act (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 1 et seq.).
   WATER WELL PUMP INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity engaged in the business of installing or repairing pumps and pumping equipment owned by others licensed under the Water Well and Pump Installation Contractor’s License Act (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 1 et seq.).
   WATER WELL AND PUMP INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation or other business entity engaged both as a water well contractor and a water well pump installation contractor licensed under the Water Well and Pump Installation Contractor’s License Act (ILCS Ch. 225, Act 345, § 1 et seq.).
