For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PARKING METER. A mechanical device located upon a public street or sidewalk in a place designated by the Council as a parking meter zone hereafter defined, which device shall record a certain number of minutes by the use of a clock mechanism determining the period of time for which parking privileges may be extended to the person depositing a coin therein.
PARKING METER ZONE. An area designated by the Council where a vehicle may be temporarily parked and allowed to remain for the period of time indicated on the meter.
