(A) POLICE OFFICER as used in this subchapter means any person appointed and sworn or designated by law as a police officer of the city and who has served or is serving or shall serve in the regularly constituted Police Department of such city as a policeman or police officer.
(B) This subchapter is applicable to all police officers of the city who meet the qualifications set forth in ILCS Ch. 40, Act, 5, §§ 3-101 et seq.
(C) All police officers, surviving spouses, or dependents who qualify under ILCS Ch. 40, Act 5, §§ 3-101 et seq., are eligible for pension benefits from the Fund.
