§ 33.004 REGULATIONS GOVERNING POLICE OFFICERS.
   The police officers of the city shall be subject to such rules and regulations as shall be prescribed from time to time by the Chief of Police and the Board of Police Commissioners; provided, however, that no rule or regulation made or issued by the Chief of Police or the Board of Police Commissioners shall conflict with any ordinance or resolution approved by the City Council, or with any labor agreement that has been negotiated and entered into with a union representing the members of the city's Police Department pursuant to the authority of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act (ILCS Ch. 5, Act 315, §§ 1 et seq.). Any ordinance or resolution approved by the City Council shall be transmitted to the Chief of Police and the Board of Police Commissioners who shall, in turn, make such provisions as are necessary for their enforcement.
