§ 32.051 SELECTION AND TERM OF OFFICE.
   The City Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The City Administrator's term of office shall continue during, but shall not exceed, the term of office of the Mayor then holding office and shall continue until a successor is appointed unless a shorter term is specified in the City Administrator's employment agreement. The City Administrator shall, in all cases, be subject to the authority and direction of the Mayor and City Council.
