The salary of all appointed officers shall be the amounts fixed by the ordinance adopting the municipal budget passed in a manner and form as prescribed by law and adopted by the Mayor and the City Council. The salaries of the Mayor, Aldermen and Clerk shall be as follows:
(A) Mayor: The Mayor shall devote so much of his or her time to the duties of the office as the faithful and efficient discharge thereof may require.
(1) The Mayor's salary shall be $11,000 annually.
(2) Should the Mayor serve as the local Liquor Commissioner, the Mayor shall additionally receive a salary of $10,000 annually.
(3) The payments shall be made monthly on a pro-rated basis.
(4) The Mayor shall have access to a City fleet vehicle for his use when needed.
(B) Aldermen: $7,000 annually, with payments made monthly on a pro-rated basis.
(C) Clerk: $7,000 annually, as a base salary, with payments made monthly on a prorated basis. In addition to the base salary, the Clerk is eligible for the following additional amounts under certain specified conditions:
(1) If the Clerk obtains the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk, as certified by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and provides the City Council and City Administrator with a certificate verifying same, a $500 bonus will be awarded. At the beginning of the next fiscal year after certification is achieved, the $500 will become a part of the base salary with payments to be made monthly on a pro-rated basis. The city will reimburse the Clerk for all tuition and fees necessary to obtain the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk pursuant to the city's established tuition reimbursement policies and procedures.
(2) If the Clerk transcribes the minutes of any regular or special City Council meeting and related committee of the whole and submits them to the City Council for review and approval, the Clerk will receive an additional payment of $75 per meeting for minutes transcribed and approved by the City Council, with payments made monthly.
