A. The Police Department will review the criminal history of all persons who will serve the general public through a license issued by the City of Nyssa. The applicant will by his/her signature authorize the Police Department to conduct a background check. The Police Department will report only that the applicant does or does not have a criminal history. If the Council requires additional information they may require the applicant to request a written criminal history from the OSP Identification Services Section. The criminal history information will be destroyed in a manner authorized by LEDS.
B. The individuals who are required to apply to the City for recommendations including but not limited to OLCC licensing, travel permits, and immigration status letters will by signature authorize the Police Department to conduct a background check. The Police Department in the formation of a recommendation may use information of criminal history, however the details of a criminal history will not be released. The criminal history information will be destroyed in a manner authorized by LEDS. (Ord. 657-18, 3-13-2018)
