6-2-20-2: DESIGNATION OF DANGEROUS OR VICIOUS DOG:
Any police officer or the city ordinance officer will investigate complaints of dangerous and vicious dogs within the city. Complaints can be initiated in the following manner:
   A.   Citizen Complaint: A citizen may initiate a complaint of a dangerous or vicious dog with the police department. The citizen shall provide the department with adequate information concerning the description of dog, type of behavior, any owner information available, and the time, date and location of the incident.
   B.   City Complaint; Investigation: A police officer or the city ordinance officer may self-initiate a complaint of a dangerous or vicious dog and will assure that an investigation be completed recording the details of the incident.
   C.   Determination: After the examination of all investigatory material, the chief of police or his designee shall make a determination as to whether in the view of the chief of police the dog is dangerous or vicious as defined by this section 6-2-20. (Ord. 630-10, 1-11-2011)
