A. Purchaser Obtain License: Upon the sale of an unlicensed dog, the purchaser shall be required to obtain a license for the current year. (Ord. 630-10, 1-11-2011)
B. Authority To Kill By Lethal Injection: If after the expiration of the applicable time as set forth in subsection 6-2-6B1 or B2 of this chapter, a period of five (5) or seven (7) days has elapsed during which an impounded dog cannot be sold, the city or its agent is hereby authorized and empowered to kill the dog by lethal injection of sodium phenobarbital or other substance approved by the Oregon state veterinary medical examining board. C. Dog Posing Imminent Threat; Alternate Method Of Killing: If a particular dog to be destroyed poses an imminent threat to human or animal life, making use of lethal injection of sodium phenobarbital inappropriate, a reasonable and appropriate alternative may be used. The alternative method may be subject to review by the Oregon state veterinary medical examining board. (Ord. 630-10, 1-11-2011)
