6-2-2: ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER:
In addition to the powers and duties set forth in the Oregon Revised Statutes, the ordinance control officer shall have the following powers and duties:
   A.   To have power in the enforcement of all the provisions of this chapter relating to the licensing and impounding of dogs as provided in this chapter.
   B.   To maintain and keep or contract with a private provider of a small animal shelter or other place where all dogs subject to impoundment may be kept and held safely and provided with proper and sufficient food, water, and shelter.
   C.   To impound and keep safely any dog apparently abandoned that is found doing any of the activities set forth in this chapter.
   D.   To issue citations and complaints within appropriate jurisdictions, appear as witness, and to perform all other acts necessary for the enforcement of this chapter.
   E.   To receive any costs and charges hereinafter provided in this chapter.
   F.   To investigate reports of biting dogs as hereinafter set forth in this chapter.
   G.   To investigate livestock claims. (Ord. 630-10, 1-11-2011)
