(a) The office of the Building Official is hereby established.
(b) The Building Official, also known as “Code Enforcement Officer or Official”, “Compliance Officer” or “Building Inspector” throughout the codified ordinances and the international codes, shall have the authority to interpret and enforce the provisions of the Building and Housing Code. Such interpretations, policies and procedures shall be in conformance with the intent and purpose of said code and shall not have the effect of waiving requirements specifically provided for in this code.
