§ 105.08 NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES.
   The following shall constitute the exclusive procedure for the nomination of candidates for municipal office in the town.
   (a)   A person shall be deemed nominated for the office of Mayor when there is filed with the Recorder or his or her appointee a certificate of announcement, and a filing fee of $50, filing dates to begin in January as specified in the municipal election calendar for each election year. The certificate of announcement declares the office for which they are running and the filing fee is non-refundable.
   (b)   A person shall be deemed nominated for the office of Recorder when there is filed with the Recorder or his or her appointee a certificate of announcement, and a filing fee of $30, filing dates to begin in January as specified in the municipal election calendar for each election year. The certificate of announcement declares the office for which they are running and the filing fee is non-refundable.
   (c)   A person shall be deemed nominated for the office of Council when there is a certificate of announcement filed with the Recorder or his or her appointee, and a filing fee of $20, filing dates beginning in January as specified in the municipal election calendar for each election year. The certificate of announcement declares the office for which they are running and the filing fee is non-refundable.
   (d)   All persons who meet the above requirements shall be entitled to have their names placed on the municipal ballot in the following municipal election for the office for which such person was nominated. At such election, the person receiving a plurality of votes for the office of Mayor and the office of Recorder respectively shall be deemed elected to such offices. Of the persons nominated for Council, the five receiving the highest number of votes for such office shall be deemed elected to Council.
   (e)   This section is enacted to revise the method of nominating persons to municipal offices, and it shall not be applied or construed to change or modify the qualifications required for such offices, nor the procedures whereby such officials are elected in municipal elections.
