159.08 PERS CONTRIBUTION PICK-UP.
   (a)    Effective as of 12:01 a. m., January 1, 1986, the full amount of the statutorily required contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio shall be withheld from the gross pay of each such City of Norwood elected official, employee or other appointing authority and of each person who is a full-time employee of such official or other appointing authority and shall be "picked up" (assumed and paid to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio) by the City of Norwood. This "pick up" by the City of Norwood is and shall be designated as public employee contributions and shall be in lieu of contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio by each such person or employee. No person subject to this "pick up" shall have the option of choosing to receive the statutorily required contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio instead of having it "picked up" by the City or of being excluded from the "pick up".
   (b)    The City Auditor shall, in reporting and making remittance to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio, report that the public employee's contribution for each person subject to their "pick up" has been made by the City in lieu of contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio by each such person and that such contributions are designated as public employee contributions.
   (c)   Council approves and orders for each full-time employee appointed by the appointing authority, elected official or administrator that the full amount of the statutorily required contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio shall be withheld from the gross pay of each person who is a full-time employee of the City of Norwood and shall be "picked up" (assumed and paid to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio) by the City of Norwood. This "pick up" by the City of Norwood is and shall be designated as public employee contributions and shall be in lieu of contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio by each such employee. No person subject to this "pick up" shall have the option of choosing to receive the statutorily required contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio instead of having it "picked up'' by the City or of being excluded from the "pick up".
