Whoever violates or fails to comply with any provisions of the OBC is deemed guilty of a first degree misdemeanor. The violation of each Code provision or order shall constitute a separate and distinct offense for each day or part of a day for which noncompliance occurs. The penalties shall apply to each person, firm or corporation, owner, lessee, sublessee, occupant or combination as may be applicable to the violation. The imposition of a penalty shall not preclude the Director of Law from instituting an appropriate action or proceeding in a court of competent jurisdiction to remedy any violation and obtain compliance.
