EDITOR'S NOTE: Ohio licenses auctioneers and regulates auction sales by Ohio R.C. Chapter 4707 and Ohio R.C. 4707.111 provides for the preemption of municipal regulation and licensing. However, a state licensed auctioneer is required to notify the Police Chief at least twenty-four hours prior to an auction of the time and place and to provide a general description of items offered for sale.
