147.04 DUTIES OF FIRE CHIEF; ADDITIONAL FIREMEN.

The Chief of the Fire Department shall have exclusive control of the stationing and transferring of all firemen and other officers and employees in the Department and shall serve as the coordinator of the Ambulance Service Division, under such general rules and regulations as the Director of Public Service and Safety prescribes. The Chief shall prescribe the uniforms and equipment to be worn by members of the Department. In cases of riot or other like emergency, the Mayor may appoint additional firemen and officers for temporary service, who need not be in the classified list of the Department, and who shall be employed only for the duration of such emergency.
