SECTION 10.01. OATH OF OFFICE.

All elected and appointed officers of the City, including members of the Police and Fire Departments, before entering upon their duties, shall take and subscribe to the following oath, which shall be filed and kept in the office of the Clerk of Council:

"I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States of America, the Constitution of the State of Ohio, and the Charter of the City of Norwalk. I will in all respects uphold and enforce by general law the Charter and ordinances of the City and will faithfully discharge the duties of (naming the office) upon which I am about to enter."
