523.06 DISPOSITION OF ABANDONED JUNK MOTOR VEHICLE.

   (a)   Upon expiration of the thirty day period set forth in Section 523.05, the Safety/Service Director or the Chief of Police shall dispose of any unclaimed abandoned junk motor vehicle. Such disposal shall be by one of the following methods at the discretion of the Safety/Service Director or the Chief of Police:

      (1)   Public auction;

      (2)   To a motor vehicle salvage dealer as defined in Section 4738.01 of the Revised Code;

      (3)   To a scrap metal processing facility as defined in Section 4737.05 of the Revised Code.

   (b)   Any monies accruing from the disposition of an abandoned junk motor vehicle that are in excess of the expenses incurred by the City for towing, removing or impounding of the vehicle shall be credited to the general fund of the City.
