523.04 REMOVAL OF ABANDONED JUNK MOTOR VEHICLES.

   (a)   Upon expiration of the applicable time-period set forth in Section 523.01(c), the Safety/Service Director and the Chief of Police shall cause the abandoned junk motor vehicle to be photographed. The person photographing such vehicle shall make a record of the make, model and year of the vehicle, the vehicle identification number if available, and the condition of such vehicle including any damage and missing parts or equipment to substantiate the value of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) or less.

   (b)   Thereupon, the Safety/Service Director or the Chief of Police shall tow, remove or cause to be towed or removed such abandoned junk motor vehicle to an impound lot designated by the Safety/Service Director or Chief of Police to be held pending expiration of the time-period set forth in Section 523.05.
