1321.11 STOP WORK ORDER.
   (a)   Whenever the Building Official finds any work regulated by this Chapter being performed in a manner contrary to the provisions of this Chapter or the codes adopted hereunder or in a dangerous or unsafe manner, the Building Official is authorized to issue a stop work order. The stop work order shall specify the reason for the order, the violations involved and the work to be stopped.
   (b)   The stop work order shall be in writing and shall be served upon the owner of the property or to the owner's agent and to the person performing the work. In the event the aforesaid cannot be served with the stop work order, the order may be visibly posted at the work site and such posting shall constitute service. Upon issuance and service of the stop work order, the cited work shall immediately cease and shall not resume until authorized by the Building Official.
   (c)   No person shall continue any work subject to a stop work order after issuance and service of the order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remedy the violation or unsafe condition. Failure to cease work after issuance and service of a stop work order constitutes a violation of this Chapter and a public nuisance.
