1510.02 PROHIBITION AND PERMIT TO INSTALL.

   (a)   No person or persons shall, on or after the effective date of this Chapter, install, cause to be installed, or operate within the City of Norwalk, Ohio, any exterior furnace other than an approved exterior furnace.

   (b)   No person or persons shall install or cause to be installed within the City of Norwalk, Ohio, any approved exterior furnace without a permit issued by the City in compliance with this Chapter.

   (c)   The application for a permit to install an approved exterior furnace shall be made to the Office of the Norwalk Public Works Director.

   (d)   The application shall include a site plan depicting the location of the proposed installation of the approved exterior furnace on the subject property. The site plan shall include distances from the proposed installation to property lines and to all existing structures within 150 feet. The site plan shall include the height of the chimneystack on the proposed approved exterior furnace and the proposed screening plan.

   (e)   The application shall set forth the thermal output rating of the furnace expressed in BTU/hr. In the event the thermal output rating shall exceed 350,000 BTU/hr, the site plan shall include distances from the proposed installation to all existing structures within 300 feet.

   (f)   The application shall contain a list of the names and addresses of all property owners adjacent to the property upon which the proposed installation is to be located.

   (g)   The application shall be accompanied by a permit application fee as set by the Public Works Director.
