1305.01 METHODS OF NUMBERING.
(a) In numbering buildings fronting toward any street of the City, even numbers shall be placed upon the right-hand and odd numbers upon the left-hand side of the street. The starting points upon all streets having east or west prefixed to their names or running east and west shall be either Benedict or Whittlesey Avenues or the terminus of the east and west streets nearest toward either of such streets, and for the streets running north and south either Main Street or the terminus of the streets nearest Main Street shall be the starting point.
(b) Proceeding from the initial point upon any street, the buildings thereon shall be numbered in consecutive order, reserving, however, for each sixty-six feet or fraction thereof of unoccupied or vacant lots and lands abutting upon the street, a number which would belong to a building if there was a building upon such unoccupied or vacant lot and land. The Director of Public Service and Safety shall, upon demand of the owner thereof, within a reasonable time, furnish the appropriate number of any building within the City fronting upon any public street or thoroughfare of the City.
