1141.07 ZONING UPON ANNEXATION .

   The following regulations shall apply to any areas annexed to the City:

   A.   In every case where property annexed into the City has not been specifically included within a district, the same is hereby declared to be in the R-1 District. Territory not located in the City but seeking to be annexed to the City may be zoned prior to or any time during the annexation process.

   B.   An ordinance to designate the zoning district of property to be annexed into the City as other than R1 shall be introduced in Council specifying that the purpose of said ordinance is pre-annexation zoning.

   C.   Such ordinance shall then be considered as other amendments to the zoning ordinances but shall be of no effect until the territory in question is annexed to the City.

   D.   Should such territory not be annexed within one (1) year from the effective date of the Ordinance designating the territory’s district upon annexation, such ordinance shall be void.

   E.   Should the territory not be zoned pursuant to this section prior to the effective date of annexation, the territory shall, from the effective date of the annexation ordinance, become part of the R-1 District.
