(A) There is created the position of Police Officer.
(C) The Police Officer shall:
(1) Be able to read and write the English language intelligently;
(2) Be moral, sober, and sagacious;
(3) Not have been convicted of a felony; and
(4) Be at least 21 years of age.
(D) The Police Officer shall take an oath of office to faithfully perform his or her or her duties. The oath may be administered by a judge, clerk of the court, notary public, or justice of the peace.
(E) Before entering on the duties of Police Officer, he or she shall be bonded with a corporate surety authorized and qualified to become surety bond in this state in the amount of $1,000.
(F) Compensation for this position shall be no less than $6.50 per hour with increases each year when financially possible.
(E) The personnel rules and regulations as well as the Police Procedural Manual of the city shall apply to this position.
