(A) Every peace officer or other authorized official shall have the authority to apprehend any dog running at large in violation of this chapter and to impound such dog or have such dog impounded in the facilities of the County Humane Society.
(B) It shall be the duty of every peace officer or other authorized official to obtain the name of the owner or keeper of any dog seen running at large and to obtain a summons or warrant for the owner’s or keeper’s appearance in District Court.
