1620.06 VIOLATIONS AND DANGEROUS OR HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS; NOTICE TO CORRECT.
   (a)   When a fire official inspects a premises and finds that there exist violations of this Fire Prevention Code or dangerous or hazardous conditions, including, but not limited to, those set forth in Section 1301:7-1-05 of the Ohio Fire Code, he or she shall order such dangerous conditions or materials to be remedied or removed and he or she shall fix a reasonable time for abatement of the violations or dangerous conditions, giving due regard to the degree of danger to life and property involved.
   (b)   The fire official may, in lieu of a citation, issue a written notice on a form prescribed by the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention where no previous notices of violations or dangerous conditions have been issued, or where partial compliance has been accomplished, or when the violation is minor. If a notice is issued, it shall be served upon the responsible person of the premises by personal delivery or certified mail, return receipt requested, or, if the responsible person cannot be found, the notice shall be prominently posted on the premises. The issuance of a notice under this section is not a prerequisite to the issuance of a citation.
   (c)   The fire official shall reinspect the premises for which a notice is given not later than the end of the time fixed for abatement of the violation or dangerous condition.
