Open parking garages which exceed 3,000 square feet in area for any one floor, or which are more than two stories and a basement high, shall not have an open side exposed toward and within fifteen feet of the following:
(a) A lot line along which a building is or may be built;
(b) A location on another lot on which a building is or may be built;
(c) A building of wood frame or unprotected metal construction on the same lot; or
(d) Any opening in another building on the same lot.
Open parking garages 3,000 square feet or less in area and which are not more than two stories high shall not have an open side exposed toward and within six feet of the above-mentioned exposures.
Enclosure walls affording protection against the above exposures, when closer than permitted to an open parking garage, shall have a fire-resistance rating of not less than two hours.
