(a) All sills bearing on masonry walls shall be bolted to such masonry walls with one- half inch by sixteen-inch bolts bedded firmly in the masonry and spaced not more than eight feet apart or any approved method.
(b) Holes in sill plates shall be a minimum of one inch diameter to allow for expansion and contraction. Large washers shall be used over the hole.
(c) Sheet metal anchor straps embedded in mortar are also acceptable.
