(a) An electric sign may be erected in each face of a marquee which projects over public property. Such sign shall be constructed and erected as an integral part of the marquee and shall not extend beyond the limits of the marquee. Such signs shall not be erected unless authorized by Council.
(b) Signs constructed of substantial and noncombustible materials may be hung or erected below a marquee, provided all parts of such signs are not less than ten feet above the grade under such signs and extend not more than eight feet beyond the right-of-way line of the street, and provided such signs comply in other respects with the requirements of this Building and Housing Code for projecting signs. Such signs shall be hung or erected in a substantial and safe manner.
(c) A sign may be erected above the roof of a marquee, provided the sign complies with all the provisions of this Building and Housing Code for projecting signs. The loads or stresses from such sign shall not be placed upon or transmitted to the marquee unless the marquee is designed and constructed or reinforced to sustain safely such loads and stresses.
