1454.05 PROHIBITED LOCATIONS.
   (a)   No sign or outdoor advertising display shall be placed, erected or maintained in a manner so as to obstruct any fire escape, window or door entrance or exit to or from any building.
   (b)   No sign or outdoor advertising display shall be placed, erected or maintained in a manner which would interfere with the proper and convenient protection of life or property by the Division of Fire.
   (c)   No sign or outdoor advertising display shall be supported, braced or guyed from or to a public sidewalk, street, alley or public thoroughfare.
   (d)   No sign or outdoor advertising display shall be erected so as to interfere with a person’s adequate view, for safety, of any traffic signal, blinker light, stop sign, warning device or railroad crossing and approaches, or to confuse those persons governed by such signals or using the crossings. The Police Chief shall make the determination as to the existence of such interference or confusion. An applicant for a permit for a sign or outdoor advertising display which in any way tends to interfere with any traffic signal, blinker light, stop sign, warning device or railroad crossing and approaches, or to confuse those persons governed by such signals or using the crossings, shall obtain the approval of the Police Chief with reference to the location of the sign or outdoor advertising display before procuring the permit.
   (e)   All signs and outdoor advertising displays shall be erected so that all parts thereof, including cables, guys, braces, supports, etc. shall not be less than twenty-four inches from public utility electric conductors carrying not more than 600 volts and, with the approval of the Chief Electrical Inspector, not less than thirty-six inches from conductors carrying more than 600 volts. However, this provision does not apply to electric conductors which serve the sign or outdoor advertising display.
