Whenever it comes to the attention of the Superintendent of Building and Zoning Inspection that any installation is being done contrary to or in violation of the requirements of this chapter, he or she shall have the authority to order such work immediately stopped and may revoke the permit for such work. All orders to stop work or to revoke permits shall be in writing and sent by certified mail. No person shall proceed with any installation after receipt of any such notice until such installation has been made to comply with all the provisions of this chapter.
