1436.14 AUTOMATIC FIRE DETECTION SERVICE FOR CERTAIN BUILDINGS.
   (a)   All buildings housing ten or more persons and which are hereafter erected or converted to be used as nursing homes, rest homes for the aged, mental nursing homes, convalescent homes, alcoholic nursing homes, child day care agencies and nurseries, boarding homes for handicapped or feebleminded children, and boarding homes for children, shall be equipped with an automatic fire detection service. This service shall provide operational coverage of the entire building and shall be installed and maintained in accordance with approved standards that conform to N.F.P.A. Standard Number 72. Such automatic fire detection service shall be directly connected to the City’s fire alarm system.
   (b)   Within one year from the effective date of this chapter, every building specified in subsection (a) hereof shall provide an automatic fire detection system which shall conform to N.F.P.A. Standard Number 72.
   (c)   All installations and inspections shall be under the jurisdiction of the Division of Building and Zoning Inspection and the Fire Division. All electrical installations shall comply with the National Electrical Code as adopted by the City and amended from time to time.
   (d)   All buildings specified in subsection (a) hereof shall have auxiliary emergency electrical systems which comply with Chapter 4101:2-27 of the Ohio Basic Building Code.
