Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the filing of amendments to an application or to a plan or other record accompanying the same at any time before the change is made on the job, in the work for which the permit was sought. Such amendments, after approval by the Superintendent of Building and Zoning Inspection, shall be filed with and be deemed a part of the original application, except that an application covering the proposed change shall be submitted and a supplementary permit shall be obtained if the nature of the change makes a supplementary permit necessary.
