(a) The Superintendent of Building and Zoning Inspection may require details, computations, stress diagrams and other data necessary to describe the construction and basis of calculations. He or she may also require plans showing the location of the proposed building or structure and of every existing building or structure on the site or lot, in accordance with a boundary line survey prepared by a registered surveyor.
(b) For other than dwellings and minor buildings, the Superintendent shall require that the unit stresses and live loads used in the design of the building be tabulated on the structural drawings, and that the drawings bear a statement by the designer certifying that the unit stresses, permitted by this Building and Housing Code, have not been exceeded. He or she shall require structural plans and computations to bear the signature of the registered architect or registered engineer in charge of the structural design.
