It is hereby made the special duty of the Chief of Police, policemen and such other peace officers as are on duty at the time, to respond to all fire alarms and assist the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Division in the protection of the lives of the residents of the City, and the property therein, and the property of the Fire Division, and in controlling and regulating traffic and maintaining order.
