A. Pedicab business shall operate only within the area of the village located within the area bounded by: See Exhibit A attached to Ordinance 2019-17 and made a part hereof, and then only in the event of having authorization to do so from the State of Illinois Department of Transportation, and also to operate in and around that which is commonly known as the I & M Canal and/or towpath within the Village of North Utica and then only with the appropriate authorization, if necessary, from the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources; also as allowed within subsection B. below.
B. Additionally, pedicabs may be allowed to operate during special events in different areas of the Village provided authorized in advance as to such special events by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of North Utica, and approval of a proposed temporary route to be used by the pedicab business during the special events. The Village Clerk shall then review the temporary route with the Chief of Police and the Village President with the authority for final authorization to be with the Village President in consultation with the Chief of Police. The pedicab business in the village shall only operate during such hours as may be approved from time to time by the Village Board of Trustees. (Ord. 2019-17, 6-13-2019)
