7-5-6: MAINTENANCE:
   A.   Trees, Shrubs and Other Vegetation: The Cemetery Custodian reserves the right to remove any tree or shrub, or parts thereof, situated on any lot or grave. No tree, flower, shrub, plant or herbage of any kind shall be injured or removed by any private person without the consent of the Cemetery Custodian. No tree, flower, shrub, plant or herbage of any kind may be planted in the Utica Oak Hill Cemetery without the consent of the Cemetery Custodian.
   B.   Decorations on Graves: The placement of fresh flowers, artificial flowers, wreaths, memorials, candles, vigil lights, and decorations on graves is allowed in all parts of the Utica Oak Hill Cemetery during spring and summer months, based on the weather, as announced by the Village Clerk on the Village of North Utica website and other media outlets. Shepherd’s hooks or any wooden or metal frame or device to hold floral displays or other displays are also allowed. Winter decorations and coverings for entire graves are allowed during fall and winter months, based on the weather, as announced by the Village Clerk on the Village of North Utica website and other media outlets. The grave owner shall remove all such items for Utica Oak Hill Cemetery cleaning as announced by the Village Clerk on the Village of North Utica website and other media outlets. The Cemetery Custodian may remove items remaining on graves. The Village shall not be responsible for any damage or loss to any items removed from any gravesites at any time.
   C.   Cutting of Grass and Maintenance of Graves Around Decorations: The Cemetery Custodian shall not be required to remove and then replace any decorations on graves for the cutting of grass and maintenance of the graves. Persons placing decorations on graves shall assume the cutting of grass and maintenance of that portion of the grave covered by the decoration.
   D.   Removal of Unsightly, Dangerous, Detrimental or Diseased Articles: Floral arrangements, artificial flowers, and any other article which becomes unsightly, dangerous, detrimental, diseased, or does not conform to standards maintained in the Utica Oak Hill Cemetery may be removed by the Cemetery Custodian. Any floral frame or arrangement removed from the plot site may be held for seven days for the lawful owner, after which time the Village may dispose of it in any manner it deems fit.
