(A) The Code Enforcement Officer, upon notification from the permit holder or his or her agent, shall make inspections of the building or structure and shall either approve that portion of the construction as completed, or shall notify the permit holder, or his or her agent that the work fails to comply with the requirements of the code.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to do work, or cause work to be done beyond the point indicated in each successive inspection without the written approval of the Code Enforcement Officer. The Code Enforcement Officer shall be required to make such inspections within 24 hours of the time he or she is requested to do so. In the event of his or her failure to inspect, the contractor may proceed with construction subject to compliance with this chapter.
