§ 113.05 REGISTRATION OF FIRMS.
Any firm may be registered under this chapter as a gasfitter in the name of the firm, provided that the firm shall have a gasfitter who is duly registered as provided in this chapter. The gasfitter in the firm must be a bond fide officer of the firm or an employee who is regularly employed by the firm and is actually engaged in the planning, superintending and practical installation of gas piping and appliances. The gasfitter registered by the firm shall be in actual charge of and responsible for the installation, removal or repair of any gas piping or appliance work done by the firm. Before the firm shall be registered as a gasfitter, there shall be filed with the Chairperson of the Examining Board a certificate from the Examining Board of Gas Mechanics and Fitters showing the fitness and competency of the individual who is qualified as a gasfitter and who shall be in charge of the firm’s gas piping and gas appliance installations. One individual must qualify as a gasfitter to enable the firm to hold a gasfitter’s license, and, in case the individual withdraws from or ceases to be connected with the firm, the Examining Board shall forthwith revoke the registration of the firm. A registered firm may not employ non-registered personnel in its natural gas activities, without obtaining the registration and license for each employee; provided, however, that the work of the non-registered employees is at all times under the jurisdiction, authority and control of the registered officer or member thereof. Any firm not maintaining an established place of business within the city shall be required to obtain registration and licensing of all employees who may be engaged in the inspection, cleaning, repair, alteration, sale or installation of natural gas piping systems and appliances.
