Before the applicant shall be registered as a gasfitter, he or she shall submit to an examination to determine his or her fitness and competency to engage in the business of a gasfitter, which examination shall be given by the Examining Board as provided in this chapter. Upon the payment of the required registration fee, the applicant, after having by the examination shown himself or herself to the satisfaction of the Examining Board to be fit, competent and qualified to engage in the business of a gasfitter and having gained final approval from the Board, shall be registered and given a certificate of registration signed by the Chairperson and Secretary of the Board.
