The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this subchapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
TRANSIENT MERCHANT, ITINERANT MERCHANT and ITINERANT VENDOR. Any person, whether as owner, agent, consignee or employee, and whether a resident of the city or not, who engages temporarily within the city in the business of selling and delivering goods, wares and merchandise or taking orders for goods or merchandise, to or at homes, apartments or other residential premises in the city, without having been invited by the resident of the premises.
