(A) Spacing. No trees may be planted on public property closer together than the following: small trees, 30 feet; medium trees, 40 feet; and large trees, 50 feet; except in special plantings described or approved by the Public Service Director or his or her designee.
(B) Distance from curb or sidewalk. The distance trees may be planted from curbs or curblines and sidewalks will be in accordance with the 3 species size classes. No trees may be planted closer to any curb or sidewalk than the following: small trees, 2 feet; medium trees, 3 feet; and large trees, 4 feet.
(C) Distance from street intersections.
(1) No street trees or park trees shall be planted within the clear vision zones established by § 91.05(B).
(2) If no such curb or curbline exists, no tree shall be planted within 10 feet from the point of intersection of the property lines.
(D) Distance from utility wires, utility lines and fireplugs. No street tree or park tree other than those species indicated as small trees may be planted under or within 10 lateral feet of any overhead utility wire, or over or within 5 lateral feet of any underground water line, sewer line, transmission line or other utility line, wire or main. No street tree shall be planted within 10 feet of any fireplug.
(E) Arrangement of trees in sidewalk spaces. All trees permitted to be planted in sidewalk spaces shall conform in line with the majority of trees already planted in the blocks. If no trees are planted therein, the trees as are permitted to be planted under this chapter shall be an equal distance from the sidewalk and from the curb. Not more than 2 trees shall be planted in 1 lot in the sidewalk space.
