Any order under this subchapter shall be complied with by the owner or occupant of the premises or building within 15 days from the date of issuance; provided that, if the inspector determines that the fire hazard poses an immediate and severe threat to life or property, the owner or occupant shall comply within a shorter time, or immediately, as determined by the inspector. An extension beyond the stated maximum time for compliance with any order may be granted, for cause shown, by the inspector or the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
