The governing body may, by resolution of the governing body, regulate parking in the city. Persons shall obey the parking regulations adopted by the governing body of the city, by resolution, unless otherwise directed by traffic or police officer, subject to exceptions granted the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle. The schedules set forth in this chapter shall constitute the regulation of parking by the governing body of the city.
