(A) Bills for water rent shall be paid monthly. All officers of the Water Division are prohibited from extending or allowing credit for water rent to any person. The city shall shut off and discontinue the water to any premises when the owner or occupant fails to pay the water rent after due notice as required by law. Bills are due and payable upon receipt, and delinquent 10 days after the mailing date, and service may be disconnected 7 days following mailing of the cutoff notice.
(B) The city shall, from time to time, recommend water rates to be charged to the customers of city water service. The Council shall approve the rates recommended before putting them into effect. Upon approval of the rates by the City Council, the rates shall be placed on file with the City Clerk.
