Qualifications for appointment to membership on the Parks and Recreation Board include demonstration of positive interest in the development, operation and maintenance of public parks, open spaces and trails in the city and status as a resident or representative of a property or business owner within the city limits. In addition, the Mayor shall appoint on a revolving basis one City Council member to serve as an ex officio non-voting member of the Parks and Recreation Board to communicate City Council policy on matters before the Parks and Recreation Board and to be a liaison between City Council and Parks and Recreation Board. No more than two persons shall reside outside of the incorporated city limits.
