The Chief of Police shall be the commanding officer of the police force and shall have control of the assignment of all officers of the force and the direction and supervision of police work in the Village, including any special police officers under his command, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. The Chief shall attend as far as practicable all meetings of the Village Board, and he shall prepare the room in which the Board meetings are held, and see that it is properly lighted, warmed, cleaned and made comfortable. He shall serve all notifications in writing when ordered by the Village Board; and he shall perform all such other duties as shall be prescribed by ordinance or by order of the Board.
