The Fire Chief shall, upon taking office, appoint members to such duties as may be necessary and proper for the effective operation of the Fire Department, consistent with the North Pekin Fire Department bylaws. The Fire Chief shall provide proper training of personnel and adequate maintenance of the department equipment. In case of fire, he shall take command of the Fire Department and direct the management thereof for the suppression of the fire in the best manner possible. It shall be the duty of the Fire Chief to provide a report at the public safety meeting of the previous month's calls of the department.
