4-4-2: HOUSE NUMBERING:
It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of every house in the Village to have placed thereon, in a place visible from the street, figures at least four inches (4") high showing the number of the house. House numbers shall be of a color contrasting to the background color. Roman numerals shall not be allowed. In the case of streets which have a "north, south, east or west" in the address, said numbers shall be preceded by a capital "N, S, E or W" as may be appropriate. Any person failing to so number any house, building or other structure occupied or owned by him, or, if after receiving notice to do so from the Village Clerk, shall continue in their failure to so number such house, building or structure, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for each day that said house, building or structure fails to have numbering which complies with the requirements of this Section.
