A Range Committee consisting of the President, Chairperson of Public Safety and the Chief of Police shall have overall supervision over the North Pekin Police Department Shooting Range. The Chief of Police shall have day-to-day supervision over the Shooting Range as well as supervision over the Range Master.
The Chief of Police shall designate a member of the North Pekin Police Department to be the Range Master. The President, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, shall have final approval of the Range Master.
The Shooting Range shall only have inanimate objects placed on the Shooting Range as targets for shooting practice.
It shall be unlawful for any person to be on or within the Shooting Range without the express permission of the Chief of Police.
The Shooting Range shall be used exclusively by the North Pekin Police Department Officers. At the discretion of the Chief of Police, other duly authorized Police Officers from other Police Departments may use the Shooting Range only if the North Pekin Range Master is present. A fee shall be set by the Range Committee for such usage, subject to the approval and/or review of the Village Board of Trustees. (Ord. 1046, 3-8-2021)
